About CEI
The Central European Initiative (CEI) is a regional intergovernmental forum with a central mission to promote European integration and sustainable development through regional cooperation. Established in 1989, following the fall of the Berlin Wall, the CEI brings together 17 member states from Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe. This platform supports a united Europe with shared values, emphasizing good governance, the rule of law, and sustainable economic development for stability, social cohesion, environmental sustainability, security, and prosperity.
The CEI operates through a flexible and demand-driven pillar system, fostering political dialogue and acting as a resource for people, businesses, and communities. It carries out cooperation at both institutional and project levels, utilizing diverse funds and programs to implement its goals and support regional partnerships. With a result-oriented and multi-partnership approach, the CEI aims to drive European integration and contribute to the well-being of its member countries and citizens
