CELP

The European Council of Portuguese Language (CELP) is a ministry supporting the Inter-European and Trans-European Divisions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It works to support and establish Portuguese-language Adventist churches across Europe, serving Portuguese-speaking immigrants and helping prepare the next generation. CELP’s vision is to foster the qualitative and quantitative growth of Adventist churches and groups by motivating and equipping members and leaders, as well as encouraging new congregations.

The organization’s work began in 2006, following the first gathering of Portuguese-speaking pastors and church leaders in Europe, held in Brussels. Since then, CELP has focused on evangelism, church unity, leadership development, and building connections among Portuguese-speaking Adventists across the continent. Its website helps visitors find a church and learn about the council’s leadership, history, and activities. CELP also shares articles and updates through its blog, including coverage of Bible-focused initiatives, leadership conventions, and youth events. Through these resources and events, CELP supports its mission of sharing the gospel and strengthening Portuguese-speaking Adventist communities in Europe.
