Celtic Connections is Glasgow's beloved annual folk, roots, and world music festival that showcases the city's rich cultural connections to various parts of the globe. Spanning 18 days from January 18 to February 4, 2024, this extraordinary event brings over 2,100 talented musicians from around the world together to create a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. With a diverse program featuring concerts, ceilidhs, talks, art exhibitions, workshops, and free events, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Under the guidance of Creative Director Donald Shaw, Celtic Connections presents more than 300 events across multiple genres of music, offering unique and collaborative performances that can only be witnessed here. The festival is renowned for its ability to foster once-in-a-lifetime musical line-ups and encourages late-night camaraderie among musicians at the iconic Festival Club, where legendary collaborations and impromptu jam sessions take place. In addition to its annual festivities, Celtic Connections has curated significant segments of the cultural program for prestigious international events like the Ryder Cup, the London 2012 Olympics, and Glasgow's very own Commonwealth Games in 2014.

The festival also received the Art and Culture Award at the Inspiring City Awards ceremony in 2015, recognizing its contribution to Glasgow's cultural scene. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, Celtic Connections successfully transitioned to an online format, attracting over 100,000 viewers from 65 countries who collectively enjoyed over 10. 5 million minutes of captivating content over 19 days.

In 2023, the festival marked its 30th edition and made a triumphant return to in-person events, hosting over 300 performances that drew more than 100,000 attendees across 25 venues throughout Glasgow.
