Celtic Pride Martial Arts is a full-time academy based in Abertillery, in the South Wales Valleys. Established in 2007, the academy has spent 18 years coaching students from beginners to competitors, welcoming people of all ages and abilities. Its programmes support goals including improving fitness, learning self-defence, building confidence, and preparing for competition.
Training covers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai (Thai Boxing), and Mixed Martial Arts. BJJ classes, led by Greg Creel, focus on technique, leverage, and strategy for grappling, self-defence, and competition. Muay Thai coaching with Stephen Giffard teaches striking using punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. MMA classes combine striking and grappling for a broad martial arts experience. The academy also offers a kids’ programme designed to develop discipline, coordination, and self-confidence in a supportive environment.
Celtic Pride provides a full-time training schedule, classes for different ages and skill levels, and a free first session. Membership is offered without monthly contracts, allowing people to try training without a long-term commitment.
