About Cement Europe
CEMBUREAU is the European Cement Association, representing the cement industry in Europe. We are based in Brussels and serve as the voice of the industry to policymakers and stakeholders. Our mission is to communicate the industry's views on technical, environmental, energy, and downstream issues, as well as policy developments.
Our primary goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. To accomplish this, we follow a comprehensive 5C approach, focusing on the entire value chain, including clinker, cement, concrete, construction, and (re)carbonation. We believe that a combination of industrial and political action is necessary to reach this ambitious target.
CEMBUREAU is dedicated to promoting sustainability in the cement sector. Our efforts include initiatives related to circular economy, waste-to-energy, biodiversity, energy efficiency, carbon removals, and more. We also actively participate in policy discussions on topics such as the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.
