CemeteryScribes

Cemetery Scribes is dedicated to preserving the invaluable historical information found on headstones across the country. This initiative recognizes the threats posed by urbanization, neglect, and environmental degradation to these memorials, aiming to safeguard the memory of countless individuals for future generations. The brand offers an extensive database of Jewish tombstone inscriptions, genealogy resources, and family history tools, making vital records widely accessible for genealogists and family historians.

Cemetery Scribes actively photographs headstones to create a comprehensive digital collection, although some inscriptions may be incomplete due to wear and damage. Notably, their database excludes headstones of individuals who passed after 1928. In addition to serving as a record, they're mindful of placing individuals within their familial context, tracing connections to parents, spouses, and places of residence.

Cemetery Scribes invites contributions and aims for their database to evolve continuously, emphasizing the collaborative spirit of historical preservation while ensuring that all content is used solely for personal purposes, respecting copyright ownership.
