CENIA, the National Center for Artificial Intelligence, is a Chile-based organization working to put artificial intelligence at the service of people. It brings together research, technology transfer, education and collaboration with industry, government, academia and communities to support the responsible development and adoption of AI. Its research spans areas including machine learning, generative AI, language models, robotics, education, health, public opinion and the social and ethical impacts of technology.

CENIA also develops and shares practical tools, platforms and benchmarks, and helps translate research into applications for organizations and businesses. Its initiatives include LatamGPT, an open regional AI model built with Latin American data, and programs that help companies, public institutions, educators and executives build AI knowledge and capabilities. Through training and professional development, the center serves students, teachers, workers and leaders.

CENIA also builds partnerships in Chile and internationally, supports innovation and entrepreneurship, and contributes to discussions on AI policy, governance, digital sovereignty and inclusion. Its work aims to advance AI that reflects regional needs and benefits society
