The Johns Hopkins Center for Immunization Research (CIR), part of the Bloomberg School of Public Health, advances vaccine development, research, and education. Founded in 1985, the center works to develop vaccines against infectious diseases of global importance and shares evidence-based information with the public. Its research includes investigational vaccines for flaviviruses such as dengue, Zika, and West Nile; studies of SARS-CoV-2 and respiratory syncytial virus in children; and mucosal vaccine research involving ETEC, Shigella, Campylobacter, RSV, and influenza.
