About Central Baltic
The Central Baltic Programme 2021-2027 is a EU cross-border cooperation programme that aims to finance high-quality projects with European Regional Development Funds in Finland (including Åland), Estonia, Latvia, and Sweden. The programme focuses on solving common challenges together and across borders. With a budget of EUR 122 million, it provides funding opportunities through calls for projects.
The programme, which has a long history, has established strong cooperation links in the region. It has formed a functional cross-border cooperation area with joint interests, working towards cohesion. Projects funded by the Central Baltic Programme have specific characteristics, including a thematic focus on one of the seven objectives, cross-border cooperation as a clear added value, project partners from at least two countries, results that contribute to programme indicators, and sustainability beyond the project's end.
The programme is part of the European Territorial Cooperation framework (Interreg) and continues the work of the Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020
