About Centrale bioénergie du Larivot
The Centrale Électrique du Larivot is a brand dedicated to providing renewable energy solutions in Guyane. Their future 100% renewable power plant is designed to meet the growing energy demands of the region while preserving the environment. This essential infrastructure, initiated by EDF PEI, aims to ensure a continuous and reliable power supply in Guyane and support its demographic and economic growth.
By replacing the outdated Dégrad des Cannes power plant, the Larivot power plant will provide 120MW of guaranteed power to the coastal electricity grid. This state-of-the-art facility will operate on liquid biomass, a 100% renewable biofuel sourced from sustainable and ethical supply chains. EDF PEI has taken extensive measures to optimize the plant's impact on the environment, including occupying a significantly smaller land area, ensuring traceability and sustainability of fuel sources, and engaging in local partnerships for the development of biofuel production.
