About Central Steel Supply Co.
Central Steel Supply is a premier steel service center located in Marlborough, MA. Established in 1948, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy when Walter Lipsett took over with just $1,500 in personal savings and two employees. With the support of the Middlesex Bank, Central Steel flourished, and in partnership with American Steel Trading Corp., experienced significant growth.
Despite facing challenges such as a destructive fire in 1982, the company persevered and emerged stronger than ever. Central Steel's success can be attributed to the exceptional teamwork between sales, office, warehouse, and shipping departments, all dedicated to meeting customer needs. Led by President John deVries, the company has implemented innovative changes and programs, including redesigning and upgrading the warehouse to become the model steel service center in New England.
