About Centre for Mediation
The Centre for Mediation in Africa (CMA) is a diverse and dynamic organization founded in 2012 by Professor Laurie Nathan. Located in the Political Sciences Department of the University of Pretoria, the CMA is currently led by Professor Cori Wielenga. The center has evolved into a vibrant community, dedicated to a variety of research projects.
Striving for a responsive and inclusive understanding of mediation, the CMA envisions conflict resolution that leads to sustainable peace and is embraced by all members of society. This vision is pursued through rigorous research, impactful publications, postgraduate teaching and supervision, mediation training, curriculum development, practice development, and policy and science engagement.
The CMA fosters partnerships with academic, civil society, and political entities, both locally and internationally. This strategic collaboration enables the center to be a significant force of influence, offering valuable learning experiences to researchers, students, and other associates.
To connect with the CMA and stay updated on their initiatives, you can find them on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. They welcome inquiries and collaborations at their office located in the University of Pretoria.
