Skené

Skené is a multifunctional cultural centre for children in Palermo, created by Coloré Social Cooperative, a nonprofit organisation focused on social solidarity and the development of culture for and about childhood. Since 2017, the centre has been based at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, where it welcomes children of all ages, including those with disabilities or in difficult circumstances, as well as families and adults.

Skené offers an inviting space for reading, imagination and creative discovery. Activities described by the centre include creative workshops, group storytelling and illustrated-book presentations, sensory food-art labs, and workshops with writers, illustrators and other specialists. Its programme is designed to help children express their creativity and explore culture in an engaging, supportive setting. The centre also runs holiday activities for children and young people aged 0 to 13, with weekday sessions from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. Monthly and weekly subscriptions are available, with concessions based on household income.
