Centro Social de Arões is a Portuguese Private Institution of Social Solidarity, founded in 1991 to provide social support primarily for older people. Guided by values of innovation, solidarity, respect and professional care, the organisation offers residential care, day services and support at home.

Its residential facility, Lar Cónego Valdemar Gonçalves, accommodates up to 37 residents and operates throughout the year. Services include accommodation, meals tailored to medically prescribed diets, personal care, laundry, cleaning, medical and nursing support, rehabilitation, social and recreational activities, and psychosocial assistance. Physiotherapy, medical tests and hairdressing are also available where applicable.

The Day Centre serves up to 18 people from Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays. It provides meals, assisted personal hygiene, laundry, health monitoring, activities, psychosocial support and, subject to location, transport to and from clients’ homes.

The home support service helps older people remain in their own homes through personal care, meal delivery, laundry, social activities, health coordination, psychosocial assistance, and transport or accompaniment to medical appointments.
