Centro Social de Cunha

Centro Social de Cunha is the community-facing name of the Associação de Pais e Amigos da Freguesia de Cunha, a Portuguese Private Institution of Social Solidarity founded on 4 July 1996. Based in Cunha, in the municipality of Braga, the association provides social support for children, older people and individuals and families experiencing vulnerability. Its services are designed to respond to local needs through a transparent, human-centred approach.

For young children, the centre operates a creche for ages three months to three years, offering care during parents’ working hours and activities intended to support physical, mental and educational development. Support for older people includes a residential care home (ERPI), a day centre and a home-support service providing personalised care in clients’ homes. The Social Service Information and Support Service (SAAS) informs, guides and assists people and families facing vulnerability. The organisation also participates in the Pessoas 2030 Material Deprivation programme, which helps provide food to vulnerable people and households.
