Centro Studi Americani is an Italian cultural and research institution dedicated to the study of the United States and its relationships with Italy, Europe, and the wider world. Through public events, educational initiatives, research, and its library, the Centre creates opportunities for informed discussion and international exchange. Its programme addresses American history, politics, literature, culture, foreign policy, and contemporary transatlantic issues.
The Centre hosts conferences, seminars, book presentations, festivals, and discussions featuring scholars, writers, journalists, and other experts. Topics range from US elections, democracy, religion, and civil rights to security, geopolitics, economic governance, artificial intelligence, and relations across the Atlantic. It also runs the Bright Lights Bookclub and literary events, supports young people through the “Alla scoperta dell’America” educational project and Junior Fellows programme, and presents the Pair Prize for American-Italian Relations.
Its library offers membership, historical archival resources, electronic resources, bibliographies, and services for students and researchers, including connections with partner universities.
