Centro Studi Astronomici Antares Trieste is an astronomy-focused organization that brings together enthusiasts and curious members of the public, creating a bridge between people and the wider cosmos. Its activities combine scientific outreach, learning, observation and appreciation of the night sky. The center shares astronomy news and educational material through its website and blog, and organizes talks, themed presentations and public events.
Topics range from astrobiology and the Moon to the science behind the stars of Star Trek, with initiatives designed for both adults and younger audiences. Its offerings include introductory astronomy courses and presentations exploring astrophotography as both science and art. Antares also participates in star parties and local events, and has shared astronomy programming through Radio Fragola.
A prominent feature of its site is a collection of photographs made by center members, showing nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, comets and other celestial objects captured from locations in Italy and abroad. Visitors interested in astronomy are invited to join the community and take part in its activities
