Centrum Hout

Centrum Hout is a Dutch knowledge and information organization that brings together expertise from the professional timber trade and wood-processing industry and makes it accessible across the construction sector. A federative association of NBVT and VVNH, it shares knowledge, encourages innovation and collaboration, and works to address barriers to the use of wood.

Its website serves as a broad resource for professionals, technical experts, clients, educators, students and consumers. The knowledge bank covers timber construction and material applications, including cross-laminated timber (CLT), timber-frame building, cladding and insulation, as well as fire safety, certification, regulations and forest management. Visitors can also explore information on biobased construction, circularity, environmental performance and emerging techniques.

Centrum Hout brings together technical guidance, research, background articles, industry news and examples of completed timber projects. Its content connects findings from research with practical experience and developments in the market, education and construction supply chain. Through these resources, the organization helps professionals make informed, well-supported decisions about applying wood.
