CERCA is a pioneering environmental organization focused on driving the energy transition based on respect for human rights and environmental health in Baja California Sur. Our mission is to seek and promote solutions that enhance the quality of life for the people of Baja California Sur, with a particular focus on transitioning towards cleaner and renewable energy sources, and improving the quality of our cities' and communities' environments. One significant issue we tackle is the alarming air pollution in the city of La Paz, which has increased due to economic development and population growth.

As a result, electricity generation contributes to the release of harmful pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, in the region. The constant exceedance of air quality standards recommended by the WHO negatively impacts the health of citizens and residents. To achieve our goal, we have three key programs: 1.

Air quality monitoring to identify public health and environmental issues associated with fossil fuel-based energy use. 2. Defining and implementing measurable, achievable, inclusive, and sustainable steps for the energy transition in Baja California Sur.

3. Building connections with various community sectors through environmental awareness to encourage participatory action in driving the energy transition. By working together, we can create a cleaner and healthier future for Baja California Sur.
