CERCIG is a social solidarity cooperative dedicated to promoting inclusion, valuing diversity and creating opportunities for all. Founded on 21 July 1977, it is an assistance-focused organisation with altruistic aims and has been recognised as an Institution of Public Utility since 1983. The cooperative supports more than 1,000 people, with a team of over 90 employees and more than 14 social services and programmes.
Its work spans early intervention, professional rehabilitation, educational support, day services, residential care and independent living. Other offerings include a resource centre for inclusion, home support, leisure and activities, and capacity-building for inclusion. CERCIG also provides a social integration programme and initiatives addressing food support and housing, including collaborative housing and urgent, temporary accommodation. Its services include a hydrotherapy pool, equestrian centre and plant production centre.
The organisation aims to respond to each person’s individual needs while fostering autonomy, happiness and well-being. People can support CERCIG through donations, including bank transfers and Portuguese tax allocation.
