Cerebral Basel

Vereinigung Cerebral Basel is a regional association in Basel and one of 19 regional groups belonging to Vereinigung Cerebral Schweiz. Founded in 1957 as a self-help organisation by parents from the Basel region, it supports people with cerebral palsy and their families and works to promote equality, self-determination and inclusion for people with cerebral and other disabilities.

The association provides advice, information and support, and welcomes questions, suggestions and concerns through its office. Its offerings include a parent exchange group, funding for meal vouchers and events. It also shares practical information and publications, including overviews of respite services, leisure and sports activities, holiday options and residential homes, as well as guidance leaflets and a newsletter. The organisation also develops current projects and provides updates on its activities and priorities.

Vereinigung Cerebral Basel identifies with a green “C” and distinguishes itself from Stiftung Cerebral, which uses a red “C.” Based in Basel, the association works with partners including Denk an mich, Stiftung Cerebral and the Federal Social Insurance Office.
