CEST Trieste

CEST Trieste ETS is a nonprofit organization founded in Trieste in 1971 to advance the rights, inclusion, and full citizenship of people with disabilities. It designs and delivers services, raises awareness among public institutions and the wider community, and works alongside people with disabilities and their families to respond to individual and local needs.

Its services aim to foster autonomy, relationships, and personal life plans. They include a Service for Training in Autonomy (SFA) for young people and adults beginning social, educational, and work-related inclusion pathways; four semi-residential Socio-Educational Centres; and four residential Family Communities that serve as people’s homes. CEST also develops community projects and everyday activities centered on participants, and shares stories and publications about its work.

The organization reports supporting 83 adults with varying levels of personal autonomy, with a team of 68 permanent employees. It operates a fleet of minibuses, including an accessible vehicle, to support its activities.
