About Young Reporters for the Environment
Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) is a brand that focuses on providing environmental education and sustainable development solutions to public and private institutions in Ghana and beyond. They are dedicated to addressing all 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their work specifically focuses on the environmental pillar of these goals. YRE offers a range of programs and services to achieve their objectives.
Their active programs include Eco-Schools, Eco-Campus, and Young Reporters for the Environment. Through these programs, YRE empowers young people to engage in the public debate on environmental issues and the SDGs. They do this by providing education and opportunities for participation in schools and community groups, such as writing articles, taking pictures, and making videos.
YRE is endorsed by the Ghana Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Ghana Education Service (GES), and they work closely with civil society organizations, public and private organizations, and government agencies to create a holistic and inclusive sustainable transformation of society. With YRE, a sustainable future is possible, and they aim to inspire a small group of committed citizens to make a big impact on the world by addressing environmental challenges
