CFDE Workbench is a resource from the NIH Common Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE), designed to help researchers discover, analyze, and integrate data generated by NIH Common Fund programs. The Common Fund supports bold scientific initiatives that catalyze discovery across biomedical and behavioral research, producing diverse datasets spanning areas such as genomics and phenotypes. CFDE works to improve the findability, accessibility, and interoperability of these datasets and encourage their reuse.

Through the Workbench, users can search Common Fund data, explore and download datasets, and interactively query the CFDE knowledge base. Analysis features include gene set enrichment and tools for comparing gene sets across the ecosystem, while use cases, workflows, and documentation support practical research. A virtual assistant offers another way to explore information. The platform also presents connected biomedical entities, including compounds, glycoproteins, genes, gene sets, metabolites, diseases, and anatomies, helping users investigate relationships and generate research questions. By bringing data, tools, and guidance together, CFDE Workbench supports the reuse and integration of Common Fund resources for biomedical research.
