About Community Foundation of Greater Flint
The Community Foundation of Greater Flint (CFGF) is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt public charity that was established in 1988 through the merger of The Flint Public Trust and the Flint Area Health Foundation. Since then, CFGF has been dedicated to the future of Flint and Genesee County. With assets that have grown from $10 million to over $250 million, CFGF has been able to make a significant impact.
More than 34,000 donors have contributed to the foundation, enabling them to award over $140 million in grants to Flint and Genesee County. CFGF offers a variety of services and support to those with philanthropic interests. They help individuals and businesses easily and effectively support the causes they care about through immediate or estate plan-based giving.
The foundation manages over 800 charitable funds and planned gifts, totaling approximately $250 million. With a dedicated board of trustees and a professional staff, CFGF provides personalized service and local expertise to deliver the greatest impact for charitable giving.
