About C. Finanças Públicas
The Conselho das Finanças Públicas (CFP) is an independent organization that oversees the compliance of budgetary rules in Portugal and the sustainability of public finances. Established in February 2012, the CFP's mission is to independently assess the consistency, compliance, and sustainability of fiscal policy, promoting transparency to contribute to the quality of democracy and economic policy decisions, as well as strengthening the financial credibility of the State. As the designated fiscal watchdog in Portugal, the CFP performs the functions of oversight outlined in EU legislation.
