About CFS-FCÉÉ
The Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) is Canada's largest and oldest students' federation, uniting over 500,000 post-secondary students from coast to coast. Since its formation in 1981, the CFS has served as a national union, representing students from more than 60 university and college students' unions across the country. It provides students with an effective and united voice provincially and nationally.
The CFS advocates for policies and priorities that determine the accessibility of post-secondary education in Canada, including tuition fee levels, student financial assistance programs, Indigenous student funding, and research funding. Through their Federation, students' unions collectively pool their resources to provide student-owned and operated services, such as the International Student Identity Card and the Ethical Purchasing Network, aimed at saving students money. The CFS is guided by democratic and cooperative principles, facilitating collaboration among students and advocating for an accessible, high-quality post-secondary education system
