The Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County (CFTH) is a nonprofit organization that coordinates Houston and the surrounding regionβs response to homelessness. Its mission is to bring partners together and make the best use of resources to help people move into permanent housing with supportive services. CFTH coordinates The Way Home, a public-private partnership serving Houston, Harris County, Fort Bend County, and Montgomery County, and works to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring.
The coalition supports housing programs, regional planning, funding opportunities, data and research, training, and collaboration among service providers and public agencies. Its resources include the online Help Card, a directory of services for people experiencing homelessness or newly housed, and a free transportation map to help people reach essential services. CFTH also shares reports and data, organizes community engagement, and offers ways to volunteer, advocate, donate, and request a speaker. Its Pathways to Independence initiative aims to build on existing progress through faster, flexible interventions, improved access to help, and stronger coordination across housing, health, behavioral health, and other systems.
