The Radio and Space Physics Laboratory (RSPL) at the University of New Brunswick is a pioneering research facility focused on the study of near-Earth space physics, particularly the ionosphere and its impact on radio communications and navigation systems. The RSPL is comprised of a diverse team of research scientists, graduate and undergraduate students, and technical staff dedicated to advancing our understanding of atmospheric phenomena.

Key projects include the CHAIN initiative, which has been operational since 2008, collecting crucial GPS, CADI, and Sanimut-based Ionosonde data to model ionospheric states. The CHAIM project complements these efforts by utilizing data to develop advanced predictive software for ionospheric electron content, available as a user-friendly web application. Additionally, the facility is pioneering the Sanimut-based Ionosonde, a cutting-edge HF measurement platform designed for low-power operations, set to replace older systems. Another ambitious project, SWINCan, aims to establish a Canada-wide network of 350 GNSS receivers, enhancing data collection and supporting research across the country.
