CHAL is a voluntary organization comprised of six member churches, including The Anglican Church in Lesotho, The Assemblies of God Church, The Bible Covenant Church, The Lesotho Evangelical Church in Southern Africa, The Roman Catholic Church, and The Seventh Day Adventist Church of Southern Africa. Established in 1974 under the Societies Act, CHAL currently delivers about 40% of healthcare in Lesotho and is a crucial partner of the Government of Lesotho in the healthcare sector. The association operates 8 hospitals and 71 health centers across the country.

CHAL is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services and is committed to contributing to the well-being of the nation. In addition, CHAL collaborates with various organizations and institutions, including the World Health Organization, the Africa CDC, and the Government of Lesotho, to further its mission of enhancing and improving healthcare in Lesotho.
