Chalmette Refining is a brand committed to creating a greener future through renewable diesel energy production. As the largest private employer and taxpayer in St. Bernard Parish, we take pride in being a leader in our community for over 100 years.

We believe in partnering with the community on various projects like Bluebird Park and Tour da Parish to foster sustainable growth. To achieve our goal of becoming a top producer of renewable diesel energy, we are retrofitting an out-of-service operating unit called a hydrocracker with cutting-edge technology. This investment, spearheaded by our parent company PBF Energy, involves a $600 million capital injection, including the construction of a pretreatment unit.

This unit will enable us to create non-fossil feedstocks from soybean oil, corn oil, and other biogenically derived fats and oils. By utilizing even oil from local restaurants, we aim to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. Louisiana Governor Jon Bel Edwards praised our innovative project, which aligns with the goals of the Climate Initiatives Task Force.
