About Champions Hockey League
Champions Hockey League (CHL) is a prestigious ice hockey brand established in 2013. Based in Zug, Switzerland, CHL holds all the rights to the Champions Hockey League and organizes the competition. As an AG (Aktiengesellschaft = Ltd.
) registered under Swiss Law, CHL is governed by a Board elected by the CHL General Meeting, the league's legislative body. The company's shareholders consist of 26 Shareholder Clubs (63%), 6 Shareholder Leagues (25%), and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) (12%). Shareholder Clubs are known for their sportive excellence, contributions to ice hockey development in their countries, solid financial status and organization, and development of infrastructure.
Shareholder Leagues include national champions or regular season winners, while IIHF appoints Wild Card Clubs for diverse participation.
