Chandeleur Pelican offers fishing trips and lodge stays in the Chandeleur Islands, an area known for clear water and light tackle fishing. Operating from Schooner Harbor since 1985, the floating lodge is supported by hosts with decades of experience fishing the islands. Guests can target speckled trout and redfish, as well as seasonal species including pompano, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, jacks, cobia and occasional tarpon.
The Pelican’s charter packages combine lodging, meals, non-alcoholic beverages and use of the lodge’s skiffs, with exclusive use of the facilities for each group. The accommodation consists of three connected floating structures, including a bunkhouse for up to eight guests, a galley, showers and a screened lounge. Meals range from breakfasts suited to the day’s fishing schedule to packed lunches and dinners featuring steaks, seafood or guests’ fresh catch. The lodge’s Schooner Harbor location provides access to nearby flats and North Chandeleur Island.
