Channels & Choices is a Kent-based provider of therapeutic care, education and support for children and young people. Established in 2005 by qualified social workers, the organisation has grown from a single residential home into an integrated service for children with complex emotional, social and behavioural needs. Its approach is trauma-informed and evidence-based, with care, education and therapy designed to work together in stable, child-centred environments.
The organisation offers fostering services for new and existing carers in Kent, alongside family-sized residential children’s homes in Dover, Deal and Sandwich. Its education provision includes The Sallygate School, an independent, Department for Education-registered school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, covering Key Stages 2 to 4. A multidisciplinary therapy team supports children across its services.
Channels & Choices also offers its Stepping Stones programme to help prepare children in residential care for family living and a move towards fostering. Community events bring foster families, residential-home children and Sallygate pupils together, supporting friendships, shared experiences and a sense of belonging.
