About ChargePlace Scotland
ChargePlace Scotland is Scotland's national Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network, owned and developed by the Scottish Government. Our mission is to make owning an EV accessible for all Scottish drivers. With over 2,286 charge points located across Scotland, from Shetland to the Scottish borders, we have grown significantly since our inception in 2013.
You can easily find and track our publicly available chargers and their status on our live map, which also provides information on the type and availability of each charger. We continuously expand our network, with new charge points installed regularly, thanks to the ongoing support of Transport Scotland. As a member of our Low Cost Charging Network, you can enjoy free charging at the majority of our charge points.
Fast and rapid chargers are also available in most Scottish cities. Approximately 70% of our publicly available charge points are located outside of the cities, ensuring accessibility for all drivers. We prioritize network performance, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and ensure the highest quality of service.
