La Charlemagn'rie asbl

La Charlemagn’rie is a nonprofit association based in Herstal, Belgium, serving local residents through training, social support, education, leisure activities and community events. Founded in 1976 in the Préalle neighbourhood, it works to encourage social and professional integration while supporting participation in community life.

Its training programmes include vocational courses in food-related professions, administrative work and reception, and child care. The association also offers French and citizenship classes for newcomers, French and maths learning, and introductory digital-skills training. A social support service is open to people from Herstal and elsewhere, by appointment.

For children and young people, La Charlemagn’rie organises holiday activities, a homework club and school support. Its wider programme includes sewing, knitting and crochet, creative painting, yoga, theatre, walking and dance activities. The association also hosts local festivities, cultural events and activities that celebrate regional traditions. Meeting and event spaces are available to rent, including a performance hall with capacity for 200 people.
