Charnwood Drawing and Painting Club is a friendly local group for amateur artists in Charnwood, bringing together around fifty members of different ages and abilities, from beginners upwards. The club provides opportunities to develop creative skills, share ideas and enjoy art in a welcoming community. Its programme includes weekly drawing and painting sessions, monthly demonstrations by artists, exhibitions and visits to galleries.

Demonstrations and workshops have covered subjects and techniques such as charcoal, modern brushwork and portraiture, while exhibitions showcase members’ work. The club also shares art through online galleries, including collections of children’s art, portraits, sculptures and sketches, as well as a Gallery of Hope and work created during lockdown. Membership costs £35 per year.

People who are not members can also take part in some events and pay as they go, making it possible to try selected activities before joining. With regular creative sessions and public exhibitions, the club offers a practical way for local artists to make art, learn from demonstrations and connect with fellow enthusiasts
