About Meridian Health
Chat Health is a non-profit organization run by students that serves as a digital bridge between university health and student wellness. With a focus on empathy and technology, we empower students to access relevant healthcare services on campus. Our mission began in 2020 when we developed an SMS text bot to provide real-time COVID resources to 40,000 UMD community members.
Building on this success, we are now developing a mobile app that will offer student-facing and empathetic health technology. At Chat Health, we prioritize the needs of college students, particularly first-generation and BIPOC students, and strive to provide culturally-competent technology that improves their access to health information and resources. We rely on the dedication of student volunteers to make a difference and welcome anyone who wants to support our cause.
