Chatmail

Chatmail is a pioneering brand dedicated to transforming the landscape of digital communication through Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). It offers an innovative infrastructure for secure, interoperable, and speedy end-to-end encrypted messaging, making email fun and instant. The Chatmail project develops essential templates and libraries designed for secure instant email messaging, emphasizing automatic end-to-end encryption and minimizing metadata exposure, with additional features like ephemeral Peer-to-Peer messaging.

The brand promotes a community-driven approach, empowering transport operators, app developers, and users alike with reliable alternatives to proprietary messaging services. Chatmail relays efficiently deploy minimal Mail Transfer Agents (MTAs) to support encrypted communication while maintaining low operational costs—hosting for 100,000 relay users costs about half a cent per user annually. Furthermore, the Chatmail core is a robust Rust library that enhances chat applications and bots by enabling secure participation in the expansive email relay network, ensuring seamless communication through advanced APIs. Embrace the future of messaging with Chatmail—where security meets simplicity.
