Cheetau Safaris is a family-run African hunting outfitter founded in 2008 by Werner and Carmen van der Walt. Based near Boshoff in South Africa’s Free State Province, the company welcomes hunters from around the world, aiming to make each visit personal and memorable. Werner is a professional hunter and outfitter, Carmen is also a professional hunter, and their son Tyler serves as the full-time cameraman, documenting clients’ experiences.
The safari operation specializes in plains game and dangerous game hunting. Its home base spans more than 7,000 acres and supports over 30 animal species; the team also has access to more than 200,000 acres in the Free State and hunting concessions in Zambia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. While South Africa is its main focus, Cheetau Safaris can cater to clients’ needs across its available locations.
Guests can stay at the company’s lodges and enjoy meals prepared by an on-site chef, with options for game-meat lovers and vegetarians.
