The Chef William-Allen Peterson Culinary Arts Foundation is a nonprofit organization created to honor Chef Will’s legacy and support the next generation of culinary professionals. Inspired by William-Allen Peterson’s passion for cooking and professional culinary journey, his family established the foundation to turn personal loss into opportunity for young people pursuing careers in the culinary arts. Its mission focuses on nurturing secondary and post-secondary culinary talent in underrepresented communities and helping aspiring culinarians build skills, confidence, and pathways to career success.
The foundation offers annual merit-based scholarships to help offset the cost of post-secondary culinary education, tuition, fees, and training. It also works to make essential tools of the trade more accessible, including cutlery, cooking utensils, professional apparel, and appropriate footwear for learning and working in commercial kitchens. Through mentoring and advocacy, the organization is developing a Chef Ambassadors Corps of educators, chefs, culinary specialists, restaurateurs, and food and beverage professionals.
