District Collector Chengalpattu

Chengalpattu District is an administrative district of Tamil Nadu, India, created on 29 November 2019 from the erstwhile Kancheepuram district. Its headquarters is Chengalpattu, and the district covers 2,944.96 square kilometres. The district administration reports a population of 2,556,244 and oversees three revenue divisions, eight taluks, 636 villages, eight development blocks, and a range of urban and rural local bodies.

The district has a long history linked to the Kancheepuram region. It flourished under Pallava rule between 600 and 900 AD, a period remembered for achievements in temple architecture, including the rock-cut temples of Mamallapuram and other sites along the east coast. Today, the District Administration provides public information and services related to revenue, agriculture, fisheries, social welfare, elections, land records, local governance, and disaster management. Residents can access online land services, grievance redressal, RTI resources, citizen information, and public utility directories. The official portal also supports visitors with information on tourist attractions, accommodation, events, festivals, and travel, while sharing notices, recruitment updates, tenders, schemes, and district news.
