About Cherokee Rose Quilters Guild
Cherokee Rose Quilters Guild is a community of quilters based in Douglas County, Georgia, welcoming members and visitors from across the county, metro Atlanta, and beyond. Founded in 1990, the guild brings people together to develop their quilting skills, share their enthusiasm for the craft, support the community, and build lasting friendships. Members range from beginners to advanced quilters and create a wide variety of work, including art quilts, Civil War reproductions, baby quilts, modern designs, bed quilts, and wall quilts.
Their techniques include hand piecing, hand quilting, and hand applique, as well as machine sewing for piecing, quilting, embroidery, and applique. The guild offers regular daytime and evening meetings to accommodate different schedules, along with programs, workshops, challenges, trips to quilt shops, and opportunities to share projects and ideas. Visitors are welcome at meetings, and people interested in joining can explore the guild’s activities through its website.
Members also contribute to community service projects, including a group quilt donated to the Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum
