CHHA-Sudbury

The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association – Sudbury Branch is a consumer-based, non-profit charitable organization serving people who are hard of hearing in Sudbury and Northeastern Ontario. Run by and for people with hearing loss, the branch offers information, practical support and community education. Its programs help individuals, families and friends better understand hearing loss and navigate everyday communication.

Services include an advisory and mentoring program, AI captioning, community outreach, public education presentations, and access to assistive listening devices. The branch also offers speech-reading classes, workshops on living with hearing loss, and sessions on managing tinnitus. Its learning resources cover hearing aids, cochlear implants, hearing loops, FM and infrared systems, the ear and T-coils. Additional initiatives include Hear Now!, Hear The Children, Hear The North, a student bursary, and a newsletter.

The branch promotes accessible listening in public spaces and provides information about locations offering hearing accessibility. Many of its supports and services are offered at no charge.
