Chibikuro Nursery School is a community-focused early childhood education provider in Hyogo Ward, Kobe, operated by the social welfare organization Nobana-kai. Founded around 50 years ago, the school is guided by the principle “Freedom for children,” fostering an environment where children can explore, play freely, and grow in their own way. Its approach emphasizes children’s food and health, including meals made with organic ingredients, free-range eggs, and naturally produced milk. The school also values active outdoor play, where children can get hands-on experience in nature.

Chibikuro has a notable history of community support. After the Great Hanshin Earthquake, its grounds became a hub for relief supplies, volunteers, and meal distribution to evacuees. Today, the school is seeking support to replace its aging building after inspections revealed earthquake damage and the need for ground improvements. The relocation and rebuilding project aims to secure a safe home for children and sustain the school’s educational and nutritional commitments.
