Chickadee N.E.S.T. is an inclusive children’s programming organization in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, supporting children as they learn, connect and build confidence. Its programs welcome all children, with particular attention to neurodivergent learners who benefit from flexible, individualized support. Chickadee works alongside families and schools, offering daytime programming that can complement school, homeschooling or other learning paths.

The Chickadee N.E.S.T. program serves children ages 6 to 12 on weekdays, with morning, afternoon and full-day options. Small groups, additional staff support and one-to-one assistance when needed help children participate safely and comfortably. Programs prioritize emotional regulation, sensory-friendly environments, predictable routines, child-led learning and time outdoors on the land.

Other offerings include full-day programming on school professional development days, themed seasonal camps during school breaks, and Falcon Peak, a free drop-in program for youth ages 11 to 14. Falcon Peak gives young people a supportive place to connect and plan projects around their interests. Community partners contribute skills, cultural learning, land-based experiences and resources.
