L’Accademia Musicale Chigiana nasce nel 1932 per volontà del Conte Chigi Saracini, il mecenate appassionato di musica che creò i corsi di perfezionamento musicale a Siena, ospitando nella propria casa prestigiosi docenti di fama internazionale e allievi provenienti da tutti i continenti. Grazie alle particolari origini e per il modello di cultura e di valorizzazione e promozione musicale che ha rappresentato nel secolo scorso e rappresenta, l’Accademia senese viene riconosciuta tuttora a livello internazionale quale una delle più prestigiose istituzioni musicali italiane. The Accademia Musicale Chigiana was founded in 1932 at the behest of Count Chigi Saracini, the patron and music lover who instituted master classes in music in Siena, offering hospitality in his own home to prestigious, world-famous teachers and to students coming from every continent. Thanks to its particular origins and the model of culture and of valuing and promoting music that it has represented in the past century and continues to represent, the Academy is internationally recognized still today as one of Italy’s most prestigious musical institutions.
