Since 1967, Child Guidance Center (CGC) has helped transform the lives of children, youth, and families in Orange County. Founded by a group of dedicated parents and mental health professionals, CGC provides compassionate care and innovative programs that address the unique needs of each child and family. From safe, welcoming clinics to in-home and school-based services, CGC meets families where they are. Our evidence-based programs—such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and FOCUS—are designed to heal trauma, strengthen relationships, and build lasting resilience. Each year, CGC serves 4,800 children and families across five Orange County locations. Our team provides everything from crisis intervention and therapy to parent education and professional training, ensuring that families not only receive care in the moment, but also gain tools for long-term success. About Child Guidance Center
Child Guidance Center is a brand dedicated to providing excellent behavioral and mental health services for the youth of Orange County, California. With a mission to empower children, youth, and families to reach their full potential, they understand the importance of good mental health during childhood and adolescence. Founded in 1967, Child Guidance Center was established by a small group of concerned healthcare professionals and parents who recognized the lack of local mental health services for children and families in crisis.
Today, Child Guidance Center is one of the top 100 nonprofits in Orange County, boasting a team of over 90 talented mental health providers. Their team, which includes licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, and marriage and family therapists, assists over 1,000 children (0-21 years old) and their family members each month. Child Guidance Center strives to provide services in multiple languages and has therapists from the cultures they serve.
Their comprehensive mental health treatment and supportive services have positively impacted an estimated 154,000 children, teens, young adults, and their families.
