Child Psychological Services

Child Psychological Services is a child-focused practice in Fairfield, Connecticut, dedicated to helping children and families thrive. The practice supports children’s learning, emotional well-being, and social development through assessment, psychotherapy, and parent education. Its comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations identify a child’s learning and social-emotional strengths and needs, with recommendations to guide support.

The practice offers individual psychotherapy for children experiencing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, executive function difficulties, selective mutism, low self-esteem, grief, or developmental challenges affecting emotional regulation and social interaction. Areas of support also include autism spectrum conditions and social communication or pragmatic language differences. Therapists collaborate closely with parents to help sustain a child’s progress.

Child Psychological Services also runs three-week Parenting Anxious Children workshops based on the SPACE treatment model, developed through the Yale Child Study Center. These group workshops help parents respond supportively to anxiety and take steps to reduce its impact; sessions are also offered in schools. Services are provided by a licensed clinical psychologist and a licensed clinical social worker, both with school-based experience.
