Children's Home Society of Idaho

Children’s Home Counseling Services is a youth mental health program of the Children’s Home Society of Idaho. Founded in 1908, the Society began as an orphanage and later shifted toward outpatient mental health care, establishing the Warm Springs Counseling Center in 1975. In 2024, the center adopted its current name to better reflect its broad range of support for children and families.

The organization provides youth and family counseling, helping clients build coping skills and positive experiences, as well as psychological evaluations. Its nature-based and animal-assisted therapy program offers supportive outdoor activities that foster connection with nature and animals. Children’s Home Counseling Services also runs programs such as nature-based camps and operates a training center offering professional development and continuing education for therapists, with collaboration across Idaho schools, universities, agencies, medical providers, and nonprofits.

It serves as a mental health resource provider and offers a sliding scale program to support access to care. With locations in Boise and Meridian, it works alongside community partners to advance children’s mental health
